DC Web Fest's Official 2017 Schedule

DC Web Fest is thrilled to announce our 2017 Festival Schedule. Our list of Official Selections can be found here. We invite you to join us for an evening of the best new media from around the world.  Tickets permit access to any and all of the following events on Saturday, April 1st.

Networking hour (4pm - 5pm)

Join us for an hour of meet and greets with media makers, industry pros, and other media lovers. Refreshments will be provided.


Throughout our program, our 2017 Official Selection of Apps and Online Games will be on display in the common areas for guests to interact with. We'll also feature VR demos from the following special guests:

Come take a Virtual Reality Field Trip through Google Expeditions. Google Expeditions Enables teachers to bring students on virtual trips to places like the Great Wall of China, Outer Space and the underwater to the Great Barrier Reef.



Take a truly immersive experience with an ExperiusVR volumetric VR (Virtual Reality) demo. It will give you the freedom to move through space and time, opening up worlds of possibilities. Step into the story and feel like you’re not just watching someone, you’re with them. Walk completely around the person you’re watching as if you’re in the same room, and choose your own perspective.

Navteca will provide exciting VR demonstrations that take the viewer into the three-dimensional structure of Hurricane Matthew cloud and storm systems from the NASA Global Precipitation Model (GPM). The observer interacts with and views volumetric data rendered in real time using interactive VR hardware (headset and controllers). Navteca will also show some of their 360 video pieces on the Samsung Gear VR headsets, including projects from Spain and an award-winning timelapse tour of DC. 


Jessica Wolfley and Cory Key lead the digital team for Discovery Communcations’ in-house creative agency. They have led web and digital projects for Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet and other Discovery networks, specializing in consumer engagement around top-rated programming and corporate impact initiatives. After launching Discovery VR in 2015, they’ve helped develop 360 video production and interactive VR capabilities for the media company. They are based at Discovery’s headquarters in Silver Spring, MD.

The Wizards of Aus  - Australia

A fantastical tale of Jack the wizard and his move to the suburbs. 

Mimosas with Millie - U.S. - NY/LA

A comedic slife (slice of life), satirizing conversations over mimosas between Millie, an entitled and highly opinionated Millennial, and her best friend Becky.

Like You - Australia

Elliot can’t catch a break. Stuck between a dead-end job, Netflix and chill dudes and a medically unsound goldfish. With the help of her friends, she’s leaning in and looking for love – but getting a little distracted along the way.
