Web Series

Any and all independent web series can be submitted. Please include an active link to 2-3 episodes of your show for our jurors.

  • Earlybird Deadline

Games/Apps

Any and all innovative games or apps can be submitted. Preferred methods for submission: Directly send us a copy of the game or app, for mobile or desktop, as needed. If you are unable to do so, and wish to send us your app from the App Store, Steam or Google Play, please include a non-geoblocked promo code for our jurors. As a 501(c)(3) it is contrary to our bylaws for us to purchase your app.

Screenwriting/Blogs

A 12-15 page writing sample of a digital short or a selection from your longer form digital work.

Social Impact & Social Movements

How are you achieving the goal of social change by leveraging a digital platform? Creating social change through online presence, storytelling, etc...

Here is how it works:

1. Create a free Filmmaker/Screenwriter/Artist account.
2. Create a project for your web series, short film, app, screenplay, podcast, etc.
3. Include an active link to your show/game/blog, etc.
4. Submit your masterpiece!

Best of category award winners are Eligible for:

Mentorship, co-working space use, equipment, software, etc.
Potential opportunities for distribution deals
Feature on sites and social media
Customized hand engraved award

Analyzing Diversity in Media Questionnaire

If you are a content creator, please help us by answering this short questionnaire. The questionnaire is 100% anonymous and will NOT be used as criteria for judging in DC Web Fest submissions. This questionnaire will be used in a data analysis project analyzing diversity in media.

Rules & Terms

Due to volume, your total submission should be NO LONGER than 30 minutes or 10 minutes per episode. If your submission is longer than 30 minutes, we CANNOT accept your submission for consideration, and you will not be eligible for a refund.

Screenplays: Please submit a maximum of 20 pages. 

Note for Filmmakers: Due to limited time at the screening and award ceremony, Official Selections may be asked to provide a segment no longer than 10 minutes.

Note for Game/App Developers: To submit your project use the Film/Video form, but ignore all boxes that don't apply (i.e. basically all of section 4).

Note for Student Submitters: Use your student email to contact info@dcwebfest.co for special student discounts.

*If your Web Series submission is longer than 30 minutes we cannot accept your project for consideration and you will not receive a refund.*
